Warriors High Performance Program.

Athletic development for every Warrior. For Future Warriors Academy, CRP & VJBL athletes, in partnership with Myers Sports Coaching.

Warriors High Performance Program in partnership with Myers Sports Coaching

Introducing

Better athletes, not just better basketballers.

The Warriors High Performance Program helps our athletes become better all-round athletes, not just better basketballers. It runs alongside the WBA Performance Pathway, from Future Warriors Academy through to our Country Representative Program and VJBL teams, and it's built and delivered with Myers Sports Coaching, WBA's official strength & conditioning provider.

Exclusive to Warriors athletes. The Program and its Warriors-only rates are open only to athletes enrolled in Future Warriors Academy or a Warriors program (CRP or VJBL).

The Program

What's included.

Six parts, one season. Testing and education first, then the option to train with MSC at Warriors-only rates.

01

Pre-season performance testing

Four tests for U12–U18 CRP and VJBL athletes: vertical jump, broad jump, 20 m sprint and the Yo-Yo test.

02

Individual performance report

A personal report for every athlete tested, showing where they sit in their age group, what their results mean on court and in their other sports, and how to keep improving.

03

Pre-season education seminar

For athletes and parents: warm-ups (the Core Advantage Warm Up 2.0 used in Basketball Victoria pathway programs), cool-downs, nutrition, hydration, recovery, game-day preparation and tournament weekends.

04

Mid-season retest

The same four tests in February–March, run during team training, with a progress report so athletes can see how far they've come.

05

Free 15-minute results chat

Go through your athlete's report with Murray and talk about their goals and other sports.

06

Warriors-only access to MSC

Personal training, semi-private coaching, at-home and online programs, and Rep-Ready, at Warriors rates.

U12–U18 CRP & VJBL athletes

Younger Future Warriors Academy athletes are welcome at the seminar.

Consent comes first. A parent or guardian must complete the consent form before testing.

Complete the consent form

Testing happens in the agreed session only. Athletes who miss it can be tested at the mid-season retest.

Why It Matters

More than basketball.

Athleticism is part of selection

Basketball Victoria Country's Future Development Program lists physical literacy (size, length, agility and coordination) in its selection framework. Pathway sessions use the Core Advantage Warm Up 2.0, the same warm-up our athletes learn through the Warriors.

It helps in every sport

Power, speed and repeat-effort fitness carry over to footy, cricket, netball, soccer and more. Kids who play more than one sport usually become better all-round athletes, and MSC plans training around an athlete's whole week.

Good To Know

Questions, answered.

Who can take part?

Athletes enrolled in Future Warriors Academy or a Warriors program (CRP or VJBL). Testing is for U12–U18 CRP and VJBL athletes. Younger FWA athletes can attend the seminar and access MSC's services at Warriors rates.

Does testing cost anything?

[To be confirmed. Expected: testing, the report, the seminar and the retest are included for Warriors athletes at no extra cost.]

Do we have to train with MSC?

No. Training with MSC is completely optional and has no bearing on team selection or court time.

What are the tests?

Vertical jump, broad jump and 20 m sprint (best of three attempts each), and the Yo-Yo test (one attempt).

My child plays other sports. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Multi-sport athletes are encouraged, and Murray plans training around your child's whole week.

How is my child's data used?

Results are recorded with your consent and shared only between WBA and Myers Sports Coaching to produce your athlete's reports. MSC won't contact you unless you get in touch first, for example by booking a results chat.

What if we miss the testing day?

Testing runs in the agreed session only, but your athlete can be tested at the mid-season retest in February–March.

When will we get our report?

[timing to be confirmed, e.g. within two weeks of testing]

Who do I contact with questions?

[WBA contact, e.g. Natasha Billing, tash.billing@warragulbasketball.org.au] for the Program and testing, or Murray Myers (0468 468 579 · murrayjmyers@gmail.com) for training with MSC.
