Head Coach and Assistant Coach expressions of interest are now open for the Warragul Warriors 2027 VJBL campaign. Lead our junior representative teams onto Victoria's biggest junior stage.

Thank you for your interest in coaching with the Warriors.

section 4 of 9 Accreditation & Compliance

Association Coach accreditation requires holding Competition level for 12 months, being over 21, and coaching at VJBL level or higher.

  1. Participation Coach formerly Community Coach The entry point — Aussie Hoops, school programs, a first domestic team.
  2. Competition Coach formerly Club Coach · Bronze / Silver / Gold The working level for domestic coaches and coaches new to representative basketball.
  3. Association Coach formerly Representative Coach · Bronze / Silver / Gold For experienced rep coaches — VJBL, Country and pathway programs. Typically requires time at Competition level first.
  4. Performance Coach elite & national pathway · Bronze / Silver / Gold FIBA-recognised, delivered by Basketball Australia. Entry by coaching role and endorsement.
  5. Master Coach honorary recognition Honorary FIBA-recognised designation for sustained excellence in elite basketball.

A WWCC is required for all adult coaches. Coaches under 18 are exempt under Victorian law — if that applies, just select No and we'll follow up at appointment stage if needed.

Safeguarding Children in Basketball *

All successful applicants will be asked to complete the Basketball Australia Safeguarding Children in Basketball course before the season starts. The course is free, delivered online through eTrainU (the same platform you use for coaching accreditation), and forms part of how we look after our young athletes. Where are you up to with this course?

VJBL games are played Friday nights across Melbourne and regional Victoria — regular travel is part of the commitment.
